Shoes for Babies

I feel like a lot of people forget about the importance of shoes for their kids. It is so important when a toddler is first learning to walk that they have good shoes to support their lifestyle change and growing body.
There are many stores that have great supportive shoes for kids. Off of the top of my head, I can recall that Famous Footwear, Target, Tradehome Shoes, Journeys, Payless, and Finish Line, all carry shoes to toddlers and kids. There are so many more places out there that can be found buy a simple internet search.
Some great brands that I have heard are great for toddlers and kids include Nike, Puma, Reebok, and Striderite. There's obviously many more than that, I was just giving you all a starting point for your search!

Closet Organization

A key to great baby fashion is having great organization for all of your baby's clothing items as well. There are so many things I love about this closet I don't even know where to begin!
First off, I love the color of the walls inside the closet. It's such a fantastic idea to add a pop of color to a closet because I feel like colors get forgotten about when it comes to closets.
Secondly, the baskets on top are brilliant. Baskets are definitely my go-to when it comes to organization and storage. I would use these for diapers, burp clothes, etc.
I also love that there are that many clothes hung up. It's easy for dresser drawers to get messy and confusing. Hanging clothes is a fantastic way to keep them neat and visually accessible.
The 9-cube storage rack is fantastic and adds a cherry on top of this great closet! I have a storage unit much like this in black and got mine at Target. The basket/drawers are sold separately and are great visually and specially both. If you have any great closet organization tips, send them my way!

Car Seat/Restaurant Chair Cover

My friend is in labor today! The poor girl has been in labor since this morning and still hasn't had her baby girl yet--so hopefully tomorrow we will be able to visit them and meet the newest addition to their family! I am having trouble deciding on a good gift to give them to celebrate. I don't want to bring flowers. They die and I feel like it's an overdone gift. When we went to their house last week, she showed me the baby's (future) room and it was filled with clothes and baby accessories.
I had a little down time at work today and I decided to look around and decide what I should get them. I decided on this shopping cart cover from Eddie Bauer. I discovered it on Target.com. The couple run a lot of errands and do some shopping so I thought it would be a good, useful, unique gift. You can also use it on restaurant high chairs. It keeps the hard surfaces soft for the baby and clean from all the germs of the other customers.

Titanium Rings

As a mom, you deserve something for yourself. I have come to realize just how much I sacrifice as a mom, that I never thought I would. I wouldn't trade being a mom for a minute as much work as it is sometimes--I LOVE having Emma as my daughter and it's a privilege to watch her grow daily.
However, I have learned that it is important to do things for yourself and treat yourself--you deserve it! I love jewelry in all kinds: necklaces, rings, bracelets, & earrings. I came across this gorgeous titanium ring. I enjoy this one so much because it's reasonably priced and it has a fun print. It's a perfect right hand ring. It's nice that it doesn't stick out too much so it won't scratch Emma's skin when I'm holding her, bathing her, etc. It's made of the material titanium, which is very sturdy for my busy lifestyle. Check out the huge selection of titanium jewelry for both men and women and all of the different styles they carry!

It's time to stock up soon for swimsuits for you and your little one. I found these super cute swimsuits from Juicy Couture. Make sure you check out their selection of shoes to accompany these super cute suits and cover ups.

Great Toddler Party Games

I came across some really fun party ideas for games to play at a toddler birthday party! I feel like that is a hard age to plan a party for, since they're too young for some activities still. I'm going to share a few of my favorites with you:

Magical Cake Hunt:
you'll need index cards, a cake, and a pen or pencil to write with.
1. Write out clues on the index cards. Start out at the cake table and work backwards. Make simple clues that lead the kids from one area to another, ending at the cake. The final clue, of course should lead to the cake table.
2. When the kids arrive, read them the first clue and let them find the location that it hints at. Then read each clue to the kids once they find it.

Hot Pizza:
you'll need a clean pizza pan
1. Have the kids sit in a large circle and teach them this song (to the tune of the Oscar Meyer song on their commercials). It goes:
"I wish I were a pepperoni pizza,
that is what I'd truly like to be.
If I were a pepperoni pizza,
everyone would be in love with me"
2. Give the "pizza" to the birthday boy or girl. Tell the children to start singing the song, passing the "pizza" around the circle.
3. Whoever is holding the "pizza" when the song ends it out.
4. The last person out wins!

If you have any fun ideas for a toddler party, let me know!

Parents Website

I am in love with the magazine, "Parents" and am even more happy that they have a great website to accompany their great magazine! I feel like the magazine and site are custom-created for me and my family. It is definitely my go-to site for anything that I need.

Some of the major sections of the site include: pregnancy and birth, baby names, babies, toddlers and preschoolers, big kids, food and recipes, parenting tips, holidays, and family fun. There's also quizzes, blogs, contests, deals, tools, and q & a. It's definitely a site worth checking out. It's free, so you have nothing to lose!

I love the baby fashion section. Dressing my baby great is a huge hobby of mine, and I'm glad the site as a great section on this. It includes clothing, celeb baby gear and pics, editor picks, what do to get stains out of baby clothing, shopping guides and so much more!
