Look, a kimono-style dress!

I do various product reviews on my product review blog, In My Bag, and I was recently contacted about reviewing some clothing for Earthlings. Now, I absolutely love doing product reviews, in a way even more so than simply getting paid for a review. With a product review, I get freebies to actually KEEP! Whee!

Anyway, I inquired about the kimono dress for my daughter. Tell me this dress isn't gorgeous!

I chose that exact color, because it'll go so well with her hair and eyes. I can't wait to receive it. I'll definitely let you guys know how it works out!

I swear, they're breeding.

You would think that as organized I am and as often as I go through my kids' rooms, there would be nothing left to get rid of. Pfft. I wish! About three months ago we rearranged my son's living room to make a better play area for him. Yesterday we rearranged it again to make room for a glider that we're going to be inheriting from my mother. I somehow cleared out one whole garbage bag of toys (they'll be donated, since they're in good condition) AND half of a garbage bag of trash! And then another small grocery store bag of clothing! I swear, the stuff multiplies when I have my back turned...

But on the other hand, it's nice for the local community action program office, since every few months I drop off bags of barely-used, like-new clothing and toys that they can then distribute to needy families in the neighborhood.

Four days until we leave for the beach!

This year my husband and I are taking our children to the beach for a four day vacation. We went last year, though we were invited down last minute to stay with his aunt and uncle, so we didn't have a lot of time to pack and plan. As a result, we wound up running to Target the night before to pick up sunscreen and beach toys, and I was up until 2am packing, and we didn't go to bed until after 3am.

This year? Things are being done SO differently. It may only be Monday night (we leave Friday morning), but I already have the beach bags packed with sunscreen, swim diapers, beach towels and beach toys. Tomorrow I am going to pack up clothing for both kids (thank god baby clothes and toddler clothes are so small; I can easily cram a dozen outfits into a small duffel bag!), and on Wednesday I'm going to pack up our stuff. Then all that's left do is pack up the car Thursday evening, and run out the last minute things -- toiletries, digital camera, laptops -- on Friday morning!

Are you guys going to beach this year? If so, I highly recommend packing ahead of time... you'll thank yourselves for it later! :)
